Welcome Inland Community!

The Inland Vineyard Community blog is currently under construction...

For those who would like to participate, the Inland Vineyard Community will be corporately fasting to celebrate the Lent season. The fast will start on March 1st and end on April 9th with a Passover celebration that night!

As our mission focus for the fast the Lord has given us Acts 1.8; "You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

So, as a body, we will be breaking up the fast into 4 foci, 10 days for each focus.
  • March 1-10; Fasting and praying for the Inland Vineyard
  • March 11-20; Fasting and praying for Corona/Riverside
  • March 21-30; Fasting and praying for America
  • March 31-April 9; Fasting and praying for the Nations
People can fast from all different sorts of things; the emphasis is on giving up something to seek the Father's heart, not necessarily what you choose to fast from. Some people will be fasting food for the whole 40 days, some might fast lunch on Mondays, some might fast media, some might fast sugars, etc.

Jesus used the phrase, 'When you fast...', when he addressed fasting in the Scriptures. As the people of God, fasting is a normal part of who we are. We invite everyone in our body to join in the fast during this season. If it's your first time, try fasting on a certain day of the week, or maybe fasting breakfast every day. The focus is on the 'Who' (Jesus), not the 'what' (what you are fasting).

This blog will be the community place for daily prayer foci during the fast, a place for people to post comments and encouragements, and essentially a way for everyone involved in the fast to stay connected and encouraged.

Our central place to gather for prayer is Sunday mornings before the service at 9.15am in the prayer room. Come join us!

More information will be coming soon...

  1. Great idea to model our forty days together after Acts 1:8...and to focus on HIM. I am grateful for the structure so we are joined together like sticks in HIS hand (Ezekiel 37:17).
