Day 35 (April 4)

Pray for Asia/Pacific

Daily Direction
  • Today as we pray for the Asia/Pacific region we are focusing on a few countries. North Korea is one of the remaining communist countries in the world and it is by far one of the most secretive societies on the planet. North Korea’s threat of nuclear weapons, and their refusal to dialogue with most countries, has caused a rift between the nation and most other governments around the world. Pray for the leaders of North Korea that God would intervene in their lives and they would see the evil of their ways. The people of North Korea live in a state of fear so pray that the Gospel would penetrate this nation and the people would come to know the freedom of Christ.
  • China is the world’s most populated country, and one of the most un-reached places in the world. There is an ‘underground’ Church in China that is growing by the day, but China’s Church is also one of the most persecuted in the world. China continually faces scrutiny from multiple governments over their human rights violations which never seem to get dealt with. China is a country riddled with orphans; families prefer sons over daughters, and so girl-orphans are a growing population in the nation.
  • Burma is one of the most war-torn and unknown countries in the world. Burma is home to one of the longest running genocides, spanning decades, and issues between the government and rebel groups multiply every year. Burma is one of the largest exporters of heroin in the world, and so this and many other corrupt practices continue to add to the demise of the nation’s integrity.
  • Today we are praying that God’s kingdom truly breaks into the country of Burma and that the people of Burma come to know Jesus.

Day 34 (April 3)

Pray for Africa

Daily Direction

  • Like the Middle East, Africa is a continent riddled with war, genocide, and multiple other atrocities that we could pray about today. We will focus on a few of the issues taking place in Africa today.
  • The nation of Sudan has been in the midst of civil war for over 20 years. A Peace Treaty back by the U.N. was signed between government and rebel leaders, but practically the Treaty hasn’t yet produced peace in the nation. The region of Darfur is the most publicized part of the country; in recent years much attention has been given to the genocide taking place in this region. Pray today for peace, pray today for reconciliation. Pray today for the Church in Sudan that the Lord would given them wisdom and perseverance as they advance the Gospel in this nation.
  • North Africa is predominantly Muslim, and in many places Christianity is completely illegal. There are networks of the underground-Church advancing the Kingdom in North Africa but persecution is frequent and hostile. Pray today for this region that the Christians would have boldness as they risk their lives for the sake of the Gospel.
  • Africa has known war for generations, and today we are praying that Kingdom justice and peace would become reality in this part of the world. Pray that God raises up Christians to take seats in public office that they would lead in the ways of the Kingdom. Pray for the Church in Africa that the Lord would set a fire in their hearts to preach the name of Jesus with a re-awakened passion and zeal.

Day 33 (April 2)

Pray for the Middle East

Daily Direction

  • With every geographical region we pray for there could be endless lists of things to pray for; the Middle East being case and point. So, as we pray for the Kingdom to come to the Middle East today we will try and focus on a few areas and pray into them.
  • The Middle East has known war since the very beginning, literally. Ishmael and Isaac represent the beginnings of the hostility that has continued violently throughout the generations all the way up to the present day. More specifically, the land of Israel has been the most fought-over piece of land in all of human history. Today, the three largest world religions (Christianity, Islam, and Judaism) all claim God-given rights to the land of Israel. Jerusalem (‘the city of peace) is the center of the hostility. Today, as we pray for Israel, we are not praying for one ‘side’ or the ‘other side’. We are praying for peace to reign in the land of our ancestors; we are praying that the Lord’s presence would overwhelm the inhabitants of this land (whether they be Israeli or Pakistani, Christian or Muslim), and that God would raise up men and women to be the light in an area identified with darkness and violence.
  • Again, it’s so hard to focus our prayers on certain countries/issues because we could pray for every issue in every country and not even cover them all.
  • Pray for the Muslims of the Middle East. The religion of Islam began in Saudi Arabia; the prophet Mohamed claims to have had a revelation from God and today Islam is the second largest world religion behind the Christianity. There are stories everyday out of the Middle East of Muslims having dreams where Jesus appears to them and tells them they are deceived and calls them to follow Him. Pray today that more and more Muslims come to know Jesus; pray that more and more Christians follow the Lord’s call to go to the Middle East and spend their lives witnessing to the people trapped in the enemy’s deception known as Islam.
  • Today we are praying for the Middle East. We watch horrific stories on the news everyday about what’s happening in this part of the world. The citizens of countries like Iraq wake up every day to war; most of the children have never known anything but war. Pray that God’s glory is seen in this part of the world like never before.

Day 32 (April 1)

Pray for Indonesia and Baja, Mexico

Daily Direction

  • The Inland Vineyard Community has been called to focus primarily in two geographical regions as we take part in The Great Commission. For the last few years we have begun to partner with church-planting efforts in both Indonesia and Baja, Mexico. We are part of the Vineyard partnership system; we, along with other American Vineyard Churches, focus our efforts in one or two areas of the world so that we can better serve the local communities in those areas.
  • Indonesia; The Lord has raised up an incredible leadership team in Indonesia to head up the church-planting efforts there. Indonesia is the largest Muslim nation on the planet with over 240 million people in that nation. Much of Indonesia is completely unreached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are partnering with a church-planting school out of Jakarta that has been raising up and sending pastors for the last few years. We have taken teams from Inland the last few years and we are currently planning a trip for August 2009.
  • Baja, Mexico; We have been involved in partnering with local pastors both in Mexicali and Ensenada. The large Vineyard (La Vina) is located in Mexicali, and the Mexicali Vineyard has sent out multiple church-plants in the last few years. We are starting to partner more and more with Pastor Rodolfo and his team located in Ensenada.
  • We will be informing the Inland community as further trips to both Indonesia and Baja get set. Pray today that God blesses the pastors and their congregations in these two locations, and pray that the name of Jesus would be declared more and more everyday in these areas.

Day 31 (March 31)

Pray for the worldwide Church

Daily Direction

  • In the Gospel of Matthew we find Jesus proclaiming what we now call The Great Commission. It’s the mission of the Church to GO into the world and make disciples of all nations. The Church is called to reach the ends of the earth with the message of Jesus and His kingdom. So today, we are praying for the Church throughout the world that this reality, THIS mission, would be at the forefront of everything the Church around the world does.
  • In past generations it was the Church in the West (mainly North America and Europe) that was the forerunner in world missions. That has all changed; now it is the Church in South America and Africa sending out more missionaries every year than any other part of the world. Pray today that God would wake up the Church in the West. Statistically, the Western cultures are becoming more and more secular every year; the Church is becoming less and less the voice of the people. Pray that God stirs up the hearts of the Western Church that we would once again be awakened by the mission of the Kingdom.
  • The Church is flourishing in many parts of South America, Africa, and Southeast Asia; these are also the places in the world where the Church knows the most persecution. The ‘persecuted’ Church in these parts of the world is growing rapidly ‘underground’. Pastors and church members have to proclaim the Gospel in secret ways in many of these countries; especially in certain Middle Eastern countries and many parts of China where the governments are completely hostile towards Christianity.
  • Pray that the Kingdom advances in the earth like no time in human history. Pray today that throughout the world The Great Commission would be the focus of every local church on the planet!

Day 30 (March 30)

Pray about the human trafficking industry

Daily Direction
  • Yes, human trafficking takes place in America. Human trafficking is an 8 billion dollar business, and the State Department estimates that 145,000-175,000 human trafficking victims are smuggled in each year. There aren’t clear statistics about the percentage of this number that are specifically sex trafficking victims.
  • Today we are praying for freedom; we are praying for end to modern-day slavery. It’s easier to imagine this industry flourishing in other parts of the world, but not here in America. In America this industry is kept hidden from the public, and millions of dollars are exchanged every year to make sure this slave trade industry stays in the shadows of our society.
  • Pray today for the victims, both children and adults, that the freedom of Jesus would become a reality in their lives. Some of the victims are simply kidnapped from their home countries and brought to America. Some are promised a better life here in the ‘The Land of the Free’, and so they leave voluntarily only to end up a slave when they arrive. Some are sold into the sex industry while others are sold into ‘sweat shop’ situations where they are forced to work for nothing or next-to-nothing wages. A common practice of this industry is for the victims to be told that if they do not cooperate their families back home will be murdered.
  • God is a God of justice, He is a God of freedom, and today we are praying that God’s justice is administered and His freedom is realized by all those affected by the slave trade.

Day 29 (March 29)

Pray for abortion in America

Daily Direction

  • Abortion is a hot topic in our nation, and today we are focusing on this issue as we pray for America. There are over a million abortions performed every year in our nation. With every abortion performed, a child of God is stolen from this world. Every person is created in the image of God, and so as we pray that abortion would end we are praying that more of God’s glory would be seen in our world.
  • Pray today for the mother’s who are contemplating an abortion. For some of these women it was their choice to have sex, for others it was something done to them that they couldn’t control. Whatever the situation, every woman is a daughter of the King and is probably scared to death for a lot of reasons. Let’s pray today that Jesus comes and intervenes in the lives of these hurting women. Pray that God places Christians in their lives to show them the love of Jesus that they would see the beautiful life inside them for what it is. Today we are praying for an understanding of life, we are praying for an increased value for life, we are praying that God’s image would no longer be stolen away.
  • Pray today for the doctors that are currently performing abortions. Pray that their eyes would be opened to what they are doing; pray that they would see the embryos as a human life, not an object they can simply discard. Pray that the miracle of life would overwhelm them and that they would see the error of their ways and turn to Jesus.
  • Today we are praying for life!
